Call to join Chartered ABS International Students taskforce
The Chartered ABS is launching a new taskforce which will explore the challenges UK institutions face in the market for international students. Examples of previous Chartered ABS taskforces include the business schools and public good project which culminated in a published report in 2021 featuring recommendations for the business school sector.
As with previous taskforces, we are seeking to appoint academics and non-academics with an interest and expertise in this topic. The taskforce will gather and analyse evidence, and produce work that is influential in the public debate and with important stakeholders. The taskforce will have two Co-Chairs, one from an academic background and another from a business or policy related background. The Chartered ABS will provide research and administrative support.
The taskforce is expected to produce a range of outputs over a period of 12 to 18 months. There will be periodic meetings with most being online but some in-person too. Given the speed at which the policy environment for international students is changing and the imminent general election, the policy environment will be the initial focus of the project.
How to apply
Academics wishing to be considered for a position as the Co-Chair or as a member of the taskforce should send a short letter explaining what they could bring to the role, as well as a short CV.
Non-academics interested in joining the taskforce as a Co-Chair or as a member are invited to contact us for a discussion first, or to simply apply with a letter outlining their interest and expertise as well as a CV.
Please submit your expressions of interest to Ramin Bokaian, Head of Research & Policy: Ramin.Bokaian@charteredabs.org
The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 12 April 2024.
