Chartered ABS and ITN launch ‘Business Schools for Good’ film

The Chartered Association of Business Schools (Chartered ABS) and ITN Productions Industry News are delighted to release a series of short films that explore how business schools are supporting businesses, policymakers and graduates to generate positive, inclusive and sustainable progress in our economy and society.
Business schools in the UK are renowned for providing graduates with skills and knowledge to become successful leaders in their sector but Business Schools for Good shines a light on the diverse ways business schools have an impact on local communities and wider society. Presented by ITN Productions Broadcaster and Consumer Editor Alice Beer, the news-style programme highlights contributions made locally, nationally and globally, and includes work done to support our recovery during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Professor Robert MacIntosh, Chair of the Chartered ABS features in the programme: “In educating our students in making better decisions about the resources they use and the equality of the opportunities they create, our business schools shape the world in which we will live in the future. The world faces big challenges on climate and social inclusion, the answers to which don’t just lie in technological innovation. Scientific breakthroughs are important but not enough on their own – they need an interface with business research to ensure their transition to viable products and services for the benefit of society.”
Elizabeth Fisher-Robins, Head of ITN Productions Industry News said: “We are delighted to work once again with Chartered ABS to make a programme which will demonstrate the positive impact business schools have. We hope the programme will help to further educate government, policymakers, industry and the general public on the breadth of positive contributions business education and research makes to wider society.”
The programme was launched at the Chartered ABS Annual Conference on 9th November 2020 and features key industry interviews and news-style reports along with case studies from a number of Chartered ABS member business schools:
Anglia Ruskin University, Faculty of Business and Law
The University of Bath, School of Management
